Work Comp Insider and the Value of Blogging

Work Comp Insider blog is worth $20,887.98.
How much is your blog worth?

What is the value of a blog that focuses on Workers Compensation? Tristan Louis may have helped us with such math. He figured out how much each blog in the Weblogs Inc. stable was worth, based on their Technorati rank. Dane Carlson was then inspired and whipped up a handly calculator that quickly answers the money question. Just enter your blog URL here and see how much your blog is really worth. The valuations are based on what AOL paid for Weblogs Inc., a few weeks ago. Just remember not to feel too bad if you come up with a valuation that won't buy you a cup of coffee, my blog was valued at the sum of $0.00.

After determining that my blog had no monetary value, I set out to find a Workers Compensation blog that would register some monetary value. My search quickly led to the Workers Comp Insider. It came up when I performed Google Search for "injured worker blogs".

I should mention that I did not set out to determine the value of my blog or any blog for that matter. I just set out in search of California injured workers who have taken to the internet to share their experiences with the Workers Compensation system. Unfortunately, my search did not turn up any "injured workers blogs" but did reveal a few interesting websites such as the Workers Comp Insider and WorkCompCentral.

It is unfortunate that the internet does not presently have many forums for injured workers to voice their experiences and offer advise to workers recently injured. The internet has become a place where we go to get customer reviews for potential products and services we have an interest in purchasing. It would be a great service to injured workers if they had an open forum where they could post and share their experiences. These forums (blogs) could potentially offers a multitude of advise to others on ways and means of coping through a complex Workers' Compensation claim.

Here is hoping tha Lynch Ryan the parent company of Workers Comp Insider creates a such forum. I can only imagine the value that injured workers posts and comments would have for the many insurance companies that seek to mitigate their claims losseses. An injured worker forum that provides a voice to injured workers, just as customer feedback and experience helps retailers better market their products, could only help insurers to better understand and improve on their claimants experience and improve on such experiences and realize potential cost savings.
